Every March, B Corp month returns as a way to celebrate the growing global number of B Corp certified businesses, whilst recognising their ever increasing environmental impact.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE B CORP CERTIFIED?
Becoming a B Corp is no mean feat. Non-profit organisation B Lab stringently evaluate a company's practices across five key categories: governance, workers, community, the environment and customers.
Only those organisations that meet the highest standards in sustainability, transparency, and social impact are successfully certified.
BEMUSE'S UNWAVERING FOCUS
For Bemuse founders Anna and Nataliya, the mission was always clear: producing intriguingly different drinks that not only taste great but are inclusive and kind to our planet too.
Our B Corp certification aligns us with hundreds of brilliant companies using business as a force for good. And our unwavering commitment to the highest ethical standards means that everyone can feel good about consuming our award-winning wines, whatever the occasion.
NATURE'S PUREST INGREDIENTS
Transparency matters, and we're proud to say that Bemuse's non alcoholic wines are blended using only a handful of ingredients: raw honey, yeast and water. Each of our four distinct flavours is also infused with a carefully balanced blend of all natural botanicals, fruits and spices.
Our honeys are all British sourced, meaning reduced transportation and in turn lower carbon emissions.
And as we couldn’t make our blends without bees - we consider them our vital co-workers. We’re dedicated to looking after their welfare and we work closely with the communities that we source from, in order to raise bee awareness and support responsible bee keeping.
We also invest in initiatives like urban greening; the process of creating green spaces in urban areas with a view to increasing sustainability, improving air quality and mental health.
A PLANET-FRIENDLY DRINK
A surprising fact about honey based wines is their significantly lower environmental impact compared with 'traditional' grape based wines. The reasons for this are numerous, but in short beekeeping requires no irrigation, in contrast with traditional wine production which often relies on heavy water usage as well as pesticides.
As pollinators, bees are crucial to our ecosystem, helping to support biodiversity and contributing to the growth and quality of food crops. Investing in honey cultivation allows us to promote the welfare of bees, which in turn supports the survival of other animals and plants, ultimately contributing to food security.
We're incredibly proud to offer a sustainable alternative that feels every bit as celebratory as its alcoholic counterparts. So do join us in raising a glass - to B Corp month and to our beautiful world.
